Refurbishment

RefurbishmentMany Mining Camps in Australia fall short of what is now being considered the minimum standard for long term mining accommodation.  The CFMEU has been creating a storm over “sub-standard” camps, but this is not where the downside lies for Mining Companies running these facilities.  Now with higher standards of accommodation springing up in new mines around the country, workers are choosing to move to areas where they can have a better standard of living, while earning the same money.  The demand for workers is tight and Companies with lower level accommodation are resorting to offering more money or incentives to keep their workers.

The minimum standard being offered in new camps is one person per room with an ensuite, fridge, and TV, an more often than not a computer network connection, and occasionally a private deck area.

AMV can Project Manage the replacement and/or refurbishment of an existing camp or alternatively, provide a brand new Turn-Key solution utilising our latest designs.

The refurbishment of an existing camp involves careful planning to ensure that as much of the camp is kept fully operational as possible.  This means communication between the company, all contractor's and suppliers is both open and documented.  AMV aims to complete refurbishments with the least disruption to the day-to-day running of the camp, and therefore sees the objectives of the company, planning, and accurate timing of the project is critical.
